MHS Students of the Month
We are proud to recognize our Students of the Month, a recognition submitted by department coordinators and leaders with input from staff. These students demonstrate excellence, perseverance, leadership and citizenship in their respective areas and truly represent The Tiger Way.

🏆 Golden Tiger Award – Overall Citizenship
Chris Hermitt
Chris is a great example for his peers. He is respectful and kind to all, always on task, and demonstrates great perseverance—even through the most challenging situations. What stands out most is his incredible patience. Chris includes everyone, celebrates others’ successes, and actively encourages his peers to remain engaged and productive.
📐 Math
Kevin Perlet
Kevin is a dedicated and hardworking student who consistently demonstrates perseverance. While math does not come easily to him, he never gives up. He chose to enroll in Pre-Calculus after Algebra II even though it was not required, showing courage and a strong commitment to his learning. Kevin regularly stays after school or attends Math Lab for extra help, and it has been rewarding to watch his skills and confidence grow. He is also a respectful, polite young man and a positive presence in the classroom.
🔬 Science
Jessica Hill
Jessica is recognized for her tireless pursuit of self-improvement as well as the growth of those around her. Her ability to make connections within content, across disciplines, and beyond the classroom is impressive, all while maintaining joy in her pursuit of understanding.
📚 English Language Arts
Mattelyn Teifke
Mattelyn is a tenacious and responsible student who takes great pride in her work. She thinks deeply about literature, noticing nuance and complexity at an advanced level. Her writing is rich and sophisticated, and she consistently contributes thoughtfully to class discussions. The English Department is proud of this future English teacher and honored that she would choose to pursue our profession.

Howard Dibble
Howard consistently makes connections across content and asks thoughtful questions to clarify, expand, and at times even stump his Global Studies teachers.
🌍 World Languages
Macey Pelton-Vazquez
Macey works extremely hard to earn her outstanding grades. She is intuitive, asks thoughtful questions, and participates frequently—never afraid to use the language. She consistently goes above and beyond, completes all work, and is an asset to the classroom. Macey ensures everyone feels included and is willing to speak up for others. She is an absolute joy to have in class.

Mason Willis
Mason is always eager to engage in projects and activities, pushes himself beyond expectations, and is often willing to lend a hand to classmates who need support.
🍽️ Family & Consumer Science
Ozell Stanley
This year, Ozell has turned things around in FACS and now demonstrates consistent, solid, and above-average effort. Keep up the great work!
🏃 Student-Athlete / Physical Education
Mallory Law
Recognized for excellent participation, a consistently positive attitude, and a willingness to help with equipment and support classmates who may be struggling or need a partner.
🎨 Fine Arts – Artist of the Month
Anna Fox
Anna has been a standout musician in our department for many years. She is involved in the musical as a lead, serves as a leader in the band clarinet section, and is also an active member of our choral program. Her talent, commitment, and leadership make her a wonderful representative of Fine Arts.
