Mexico Academy & Central School District is pleased to announce the addition of Ariana Morrison to the district as its new School Business Administrator.

Morrison officially joined MACS earlier this month, bringing eight years of experience in education and six years of experience in school business and financial leadership to the role. She spent her entire career prior to joining MACS at Lyme Central School District, where she began as a School Registrar before serving in a variety of operational and administrative capacities. She later served as District Treasurer before becoming the district’s School Business Administrator.

Her experience working in a smaller school district provided her with an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of school operations while taking on a variety of responsibilities.

“Working in a small district has taught me to wear many hats, be flexible, solve problems, and understand how the many functions of a school district work together,” Morrison said. “I’m excited to bring that experience to a larger district while continuing to learn, take on new challenges and become part of a new school community.”

Although she is not a MACS graduate, Morrison’s educational background is rooted in New York State. She graduated from Edison Tech in the Rochester City School District before earning an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Monroe Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Canton. She later earned her master’s degree in Business Administration from The College of Saint Rose and completed her SDBL internship requirements through Russell Sage College.

In her new role, Morrison will oversee and support the district’s financial and business operations, working to ensure MACS has the resources and systems necessary to support students and staff.

“I’ve always believed that strong schools require strong support systems,” Morrison said. “I look forward to helping ensure the resources, processes and financial stewardship are in place to support student success and the dedicated staff who make that success possible every day.”

Teamwork, collaboration, accountability and transparency are among the core values that guide Morrison’s approach to leadership and service. She believes effective leadership means supporting the people around you, listening to the needs of staff, families and the community, and working together toward shared goals.

“Service, to me, means remaining student-centered in every decision,” Morrison said. “Through open communication, accountability and collaboration, I strive to build trust and serve others with integrity and purpose.”

As she begins her time at MACS, Morrison said she's looking forward to becoming part of the district and building relationships with colleagues and members of the school community.

“I’m especially excited to serve in a role where I can continue supporting students and staff, even though much of my work happens behind the scenes,” she said.
